OUR HISTORY
CBL was established in 2017 by Tom and Robyn Scott. Before founding CBL, Tom served as a pastor in a local church from 1997-2005, and then from 2005-2017 he and Robyn served as staff for FamilyLife, Cru’s marriage ministry.
In 2012, through a partnership between FamilyLife and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS), Tom and Robyn moved to Louisville, KY to provide counseling for SBTS students. From their time doing marriage ministry with FamilyLife and providing counseling at SBTS, the Scotts realized the vital need for soul care for people in ministry. As a result, and with FamilyLife’s blessing, in 2017 the Scotts branched off from FamilyLife and began CBL.
Since then CBL has continued to grow, expanding beyond Louisville and adding more biblical counselors to the team. Today CBL serves pastors and missionaries from all around the United States and in many different countries.
OUR GOAL
Our goal is to provide biblical guidance and counseling for ministers of the gospel, reminding them of the power of the gospel, so that they will be effective and fruitful in living the gospel in their families, churches, and communities.
OUR APPROACH TO COUNSELING
The Center for Biblical Living utilizes biblical counseling as our counseling methodology. Biblical counseling is the process by which one sinner helps another sinner grow in holiness (devotion to God), through the practical application of the Scripture to specific areas of suffering, sin, or lack of knowledge.
