BIBLICAL COUNSELING IS WHAT WE DO

Let our team serve you.

CBL’s mission is to serve the local church by providing biblical counseling and mentoring for ministry leaders around the world. We love caring for ministry leaders, whether they are serving in a church or church network, on the mission field, in a Christian organization, or preparing for ministry while in seminary. Our aim in providing biblical care and counseling to ministry leaders is spiritual maturity in their personal life, relationships, and ministry. Such growth comes as we are centered on Christ and anchored in Scripture.

OUR SERVICES

We offer the following virtual and in-person services for those in vocational ministry.

Marriage & Family Counseling

Ministry can take its toll on marriages and families. CBL loves to come alongside ministry couples to offer help and hope from God’s Word.

Individual Counseling

Whether ministers are actively struggling or proactively seeking assistance, we offer help that points to the gospel and provides practical guidance.

Mentoring & Consulting

It can be beneficial to sit with someone who is a few laps ahead of you. We love to meet with ministers who are seeking direction and discuss their life and ministry.

Conferences, Retreats, & Trainings

CBL offers large group trainings on topics related to marriage, parenting, and ministry faithfulness. We also offer personalized weekend marriage intensive retreats.

My husband and I were considering divorce. Our counselors, through the work of the Holy Spirit and the mercy of God, saved our marriage. They gave us solid biblical counseling with practical application and challenged us to grow not only in our relationship with one another, but also in our individual relationships with Christ. Two years later, our relationship is stronger with each other and with the Lord, and our family is happier, healthier, and stronger than ever. We are forever grateful to them and their mentorship!

The counseling I received helped me keep a gospel and theological perspective on ministry challenges, visions, and personal trials. The counseling exceeded my expectations. My counselor offered so much discipleship, counsel, and vision.

These past four months in biblical counseling have been a huge blessing for me, exiting a season of ministry and life burnout and not wanting to stay there. Biblical counseling has helped me mentally and at a heart level understand my identity in Christ (as shown through the Bible); that we battle the flesh, the world, and the devil from a place of victory in Jesus Christ; and how our thoughts, heart, and actions are interconnected. It has also provided me with some extrabiblical resources to help guide me in the process of working through matters throughout my sessions. I’m grateful to The Center for Biblical Living!

Through counseling, I was reminded of the power of the Gospel and my identity in Christ. I am grateful to have the opportunity to explore how these truths impact my life as a ministry wife, as well as the other roles in which God has placed me! The Center for Biblical Living offers such a necessary service to the men and women working towards or living lives of ministry, and I am thankful God is using them, not only in my life but in the lives of all they serve!

My counselor helped me through my depression by giving me practical methods, such as captivating my thoughts, journaling, lamenting, etc. Before coming to counseling, I was mad at God for putting me in the situation I was in. Over time, I saw God’s faithfulness and became thankful for my situation by shifting my perspective from the world to God. Our weekly meetings were very encouraging, helpful, and life-changing.

The counseling we received fully addressed the issues we were having after my husband was asked to resign from a church replant. We felt heard, understood, encouraged, and challenged through our time in counseling. We were challenged by Scripture and reminded of God’s truth throughout our time. My relationship with Christ was furthered through time in counseling, using God’s word to convict me of some heart issues that were revealed through the trial. As a wife, I have been able to continue supporting my husband in his call to ministry after a difficult and first pastorate.

Some of our partners who have worked with us

"I have been so blessed by the counseling ministry of CBL, and I have seen it bear fruit in my relationship with the Lord and with others. My counselor helped me walk through specific trials and struggles in my life in a way that honors the Lord."

“I asked for assistance from The Center for Biblical Living because of my addiction to porn. God used CBL to help restore my marriage and my relationship with Jesus.”

“The counsel that CBL gave helped tear away at the layers of years and years of sinful behavior and consequences. I recognize that it is only by the grace and hand of God that a person’s life is changed but I am also aware that God uses people and circumstances in that process.”

"We received marriage counseling for some issues we were working through. The counseling we received was very biblical and compassionate. The counseling helped us each see our role as husband/wife. We are deeply grateful for this ministry. I believe it saved our marriage and allowed us to continue to pursue ministry. Thank you!"

"Our counselors were so helpful and faithful to point us back to the truth of God's Word. They helped us remain grounded and confront painful experiences that we wanted to avoid. We have referred back many times to the instruction they gave us and questions they asked us, and we are sincerely grateful for their care. It helped us start the process of healing and gave us tools to use to continue on. I don't think we could have pressed on or identified the areas we needed to process or grow in without the conversations we had with them."
