YEAR-END GIVING
As I write this I am in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at a pastors’ conference promoting CBL and leading a workshop on the importance of discipleship in the local church. This year we’ve traveled over 19,000 miles for CBL, because the Lord has expanded CBL’s reach through the development of ministry partnerships. CBL exists to provide biblical counseling and enrichment care to ministry leaders, many of whom struggle and don’t know where to turn. Those who find us often come from recommendations or referrals from a CBL partner organization.
This fall we partnered with Getty Music by providing a free counseling session to ministry leaders attending their Sing! Conference. Many ministry leaders I met with during the conference said they signed up for counseling with CBL because they have no other resources available to them. One pastor told me he was sharing things he’d never told anyone besides his wife. Below are some testimonies of people we met with at Sing! that show why this work matters.
It’s an honor to care for so many with stories like:
-
-
A pastor who has been on staff at his church for over 15 years, yet came to CBL to work through his battle with a lifelong sin issue due to fear of being fired.
-
A church staff member who is thankful to work at her stateside church but who came to CBL seeking help with grief after leaving her overseas mission.
-
A pastor nearing retirement who came for counseling because he and his wife both battle serious diseases, which have altered their personalities and impacted their decades-long marriage.
-
A worship leader who came to CBL to address loneliness after her husband left her.
-
A ministry leader who came to CBL seeking help for dealing with her family’s dark sins that she has been carrying alone for decades.
-
Our financial partners enabled us to serve hundreds of pastors and missionaries this year. We have opportunities for more organizational partnership development that will increase our access to struggling ministry leaders, but we can’t do it on our own.
At this important time of year, will you join with us by providing a tax-deductible year end gift?
The need is great and we hope to increase our work through the generosity of our financial partners. One hundred percent of every dollar we raise goes directly to the mission of serving pastors and churches.
This year end we’re asking God to provide $65,000.
These funds will go toward two main purposes:
-
- Organizational partnerships. With resources to connect with other organizations, we can meet with ministry leaders who otherwise wouldn’t hear about CBL or have access to help.
- Operational expenses. Like many nonprofits, we rely heavily on year end giving in order to meet our budget and pay our counseling staff.
As you pray over your year end giving, we would be honored to put your funds to work serving the local church by providing biblical counseling and enrichment care to ministry leaders around the world.
In Christ,
Tom Scott
Executive Director
