Family Effort:

This past week our family hosted some of our ministry partners who were in Louisville. This happens occasionally and it’s a privilege to have them. Often it is a family effort to host people in our home. Sometimes our girls are asked to give up their bedroom, or perhaps an evening, so we can host visitors as a family.

We have a couple in our home, for dinner and mentoring, every Monday evening. This too is a family effort. We all eat together and often our girls are asked to help with or do all the cleanup, depending on the situation. Some couples have small children and our girls are tasked with childcare.

This year Robyn joins me on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays, which has increased our ability to care for couples and singles at Southern. Once again we wouldn’t be able to do this without a family effort. Brooklyn, our oldest, is in her first year of driving and without her being able to drive herself, Kylie, and Jadyn to school on Tues-days this wouldn’t be an option for Robyn. Thursdays is another team effort. Kylie has a class on Southern’s campus and Brooklyn often works at Chick-fil-a, which means Jadyn has to come and do her school work in my office from 10:00am until 9:00pm most Thursdays.  continue reading…
